President's Message

Welcome to the Business & Professional Women of Ontario, Brampton Club!

We have a membership of 44 women strong that is reflective in different occupations and industries.  Our club is growing and we are open to start a conversation with any woman who wishes to learn more about our dynamic grass root organization.

Our focus on business leadership skills is a great opportunity to learn from women in positions of influence to learn more about current best practices in many areas of Ontario businesses and professions.  Our Club is proud to have former Mayor of Brampton, Susan Fennell as a member and many other high caliber of women who drive our mandates.

The Business and Professional Women Ontario is a non-sectarian, non-profit, and non-partisan organization that works to improve the economic, political, social and employment conditions of women.  It is an equality seeking group.

The Business and Professional Women of Ontario are committed to making changes for women on all levels of Government - Municipal, Provincial, National and Internationally.  We participate in creating and supporting Resolutions to ensure that we uphold our mandate to seek the improvement of economic, political, employment and social conditions for women.  The Brampton Club was represented by three delegates this year in May 2019 at the Provincial Conference that was held in Kitchener-Waterloo.  We were pleased to debate three resolutions and amendments to our By-Laws. These resolutions will be submitted to BPW Ontario where briefs will be prepared containing directives to urge specific Government Ministries to take action.

Our Program Schedule consists of women who are making a dfference in the world.  All our our guest speakers must support one of our 17 Sustainable Development Goals - for example, from No Poverty to Peace and Justice.  Our speakers are stimulating, inspiring and visionary!  The women are change makers in their profession and community.  We invite you to join us each month from September until June to experience the variety of topics, delicious food and heart warming friendships.  We meet the third Tuesday of each month at Vesuvio's Ristorante - 91 George Street South, Brampton, ON  L6Y 1P4  Tel: 905-459-0511.  We network at 5:30 pm and our business meeting is at 6:15 pm with dinner and guest speaker to follow.  Please join us and see what we are all about.

BPW Brampton is dedicated to working with our Community Partners.  We hold various charity events throughout the year to ensure that we help make a difference. Our next event is our 26th Progressive Charity Euchre Tournament being held on Friday March 6, 2020 at the Glasgow Rangers Supporters Club Bramalea (185 Advance Blvd., Unit 2 Brampton) which will be supporting one of our deserving community partners. After that is our 25th Annual Ladies Charity Golf Tournament being held on Wednesday June 10, 2020  at Caledon Golf and Country Club.  The recipients will be 3 more deserving community partners.  This event is our biggest signature fund raiser of the year!

Hope to see you!

Regards,

Indira Persaud
